Sculptures
Working mainly in clay, plaster and wood, Jean’s sculptures act as a reflection of her experience or interests at the time. Beginning with an open mind, rather than a preconceived idea, Jean will follow the material to suggest the form, occasionally sketching during the creation to determine the direction of balance.
Her recent work has been constructed, rather than modelled, in clay, slab-built and then moulded and carved into shape, and sometimes deconstructed and rebuilt.
